The FITBODY guide
What Supplements Are Worth Taking?
You probably don't need a cabinet full of supplements.
Walk into a supplement store—or spend five minutes scrolling social media—and you could easily come away thinking you need 15 different products just to be healthy.
You don't.
At FITBODY, we've spent decades using, testing and recommending nutritional supplements. Our philosophy has always been pretty simple:
Get the basics right first. Add supplements where they actually make sense. Skip the rest.
Supplements should supplement a solid nutrition and training plan—not replace one.
So instead of starting with a giant stack, start by asking a better question:
What am I trying to accomplish, and where could supplementation actually help?
START WITH THE FOUNDATION
For most active adults, there are a handful of categories worth considering before getting into anything specialized.
1. Protein
Start here if you're not consistently eating enough protein.
Protein powder isn't magic. It's food in a convenient form.
If you're already getting enough high-quality protein from meals, you may not need it. But for most busy adults, consistently eating enough protein can be harder than it sounds.
A quality protein powder makes it easier to add protein at breakfast, after training, between meals or anytime a full meal isn't practical.
That's especially useful when your goals include:
Building or maintaining lean muscle
Supporting recovery from resistance training
Improving body composition
Staying consistent with a higher-protein nutrition plan
For adults training regularly—and particularly as we get older—adequate protein becomes one of the biggest nutritional priorities.

One of the easiest supplements for us to recommend.
Few sports nutrition ingredients have been studied as extensively as creatine monohydrate.
Creatine helps supply energy during short, intense muscular efforts and has consistently been shown to support strength and high-intensity training performance.
That makes it particularly useful for people who lift weights, perform CrossFit-style training or simply want to maintain their training capacity as they age.
And creatine isn't just for bodybuilders or young athletes.
For active men and women in their 40s, 50s and beyond, maintaining muscle and strength becomes increasingly important—which makes creatine one of the first performance supplements we consider.
Use it when: Strength, resistance training, muscle retention or body recomposition are priorities.
SHOP CREATINE3. Essential Fatty Acids / Omega-3s
Worth considering if your diet is light on fatty fish.
Foods such as salmon, sardines and other fatty fish provide the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.
If those foods aren't regularly on your plate, an omega-3 supplement can be a practical way to fill that dietary gap.
We don't believe everyone automatically needs fish oil simply because they reached a certain age. Look at your diet first.
If you're rarely eating omega-3-rich foods, supplementation becomes much more reasonable.

Think of these as nutritional gap-fillers—not a substitute for eating well.
A multivitamin isn't a free pass for a lousy diet.
Ideally, most of your vitamins, minerals, fiber and other nutrients should come from a varied diet built around real food.
But real life isn't always ideal.
Calorie-restricted diets, repetitive eating patterns, food preferences and busy schedules can all create nutritional gaps. A well-formulated vitamin and mineral supplement can provide some nutritional insurance.
The key is avoiding the idea that more is automatically better.
Stacking several overlapping vitamin products can result in unnecessarily high intakes of certain nutrients.

Once the foundation is covered, this is where supplementation becomes much more individual.
You don't need everything below.
Choose according to your goals, training and diet.
Strength & Body Recomposition
Your priorities should still begin with:
Protein + resistance training + adequate calories + creatine.
From there, certain products can complement a structured strength or body-composition program.
Depending on the individual, we may also consider products such as:
Quadracarn
Muscle Synergy
Density
Mass Aminos
Ultra 40
These aren't replacements for protein or a good training program. They're additions for people who already have the fundamentals in place and want to take their nutrition strategy further.
SHOP STRENGTH & PERFORMANCERecovery & Sleep
Before buying a recovery supplement, start with the obvious things:
Are you sleeping enough? Are you eating enough protein? Are you allowing enough recovery between hard training sessions?
No supplement can compensate for chronically poor sleep and excessive training.
Once those pieces are handled, magnesium and mineral-based products can make sense for some people as part of an evening nutrition routine.

Years of lifting, running, CrossFit, sports—and simply living an active life—can make joint and connective-tissue nutrition more relevant.
This is an area where we often look at:
Collagen peptides
Joint-support formulas
Essential fatty acids
Adequate overall dietary protein
Collagen can be an easy addition to coffee, smoothies or other drinks, while joint formulas may provide additional nutritional support depending on your needs.

Here's an important one.
Supplements don't create fat loss. A calorie deficit does.
No capsule changes that equation.
Fat-loss supplements belong after nutrition, protein intake, resistance training, activity and sleep are addressed.
At that point, certain products may complement a well-designed weight-management plan depending on your individual needs and stimulant tolerance.
That's why we don't recommend automatically throwing a "fat burner" at everyone who wants to lose weight.
The right approach depends on the person.
SHOP FAT-LOSS SUPPORTWHAT ABOUT WOMEN 40+?
This has become one of the most common groups we work with at FITBODY.
Women in their 40s and 50s are often bombarded with enormous supplement lists promising to address every aspect of perimenopause, menopause, metabolism and aging.
We take a more practical approach.
Instead of starting with a dozen products, we generally look first at the fundamentals:
1. Protein
Maintaining adequate protein intake becomes increasingly important when preserving or building lean muscle is a priority.
2. Creatine
Particularly relevant for women performing resistance training and working to maintain strength and muscle.
3. Essential Fatty Acids
Especially when EPA- and DHA-rich foods aren't regularly included in the diet.
4. Vitamins & Minerals
Used where appropriate to help fill nutritional gaps.
5. Collagen / Joint Support
Worth considering for active women concerned with joint and connective-tissue nutrition.
Then—and only then—we look at what else the person's goals might justify.
You don't need a supplement labeled "for women over 40" simply because you turned 40.
You need the right nutrition for you.
SHOP WOMEN'S FAVORITESSO...HOW MANY SUPPLEMENTS DO YOU ACTUALLY NEED?
Maybe two.
Maybe five.
Maybe none.
That's the point.
There isn't a universal supplement stack everyone needs to take.
Someone who eats plenty of protein, fatty fish and a varied diet but wants better performance in the weight room might simply add creatine.
Someone following a calorie-controlled body-recomposition diet may find protein powder, a vitamin/mineral supplement and omega-3s useful.
Someone training hard five days per week may have completely different needs.
Don't build your supplement routine by collecting bottles.
Build it around your diet, training and goals.
OUR SIMPLE RULE FOR CHOOSING SUPPLEMENTS
Before adding anything to your routine, ask four questions:
1. What problem am I trying to solve?
There should be a reason you're taking it.
2. Can I address this through food or lifestyle first?
Sometimes the answer is yes—and that's usually where you should start.
3. Is there meaningful evidence behind the ingredient?
Popular doesn't necessarily mean useful.
4. Will I actually take it consistently?
The world's greatest supplement does absolutely nothing sitting in the cabinet.
QUALITY MATTERS
Once you've decided that a supplement makes sense, what you buy matters too.
Look for products with:
Clearly disclosed ingredients and serving amounts
Established manufacturers
Appropriate quality-control practices
Sensible formulations
Ingredients supported by credible research
Realistic claims rather than miracle promises
We have worked with Beverly International for more than two decades because we know the company, the products and the consistency behind them.
As FITBODY grows, we're also carefully evaluating additional products and brands where they can fill legitimate gaps in our lineup.
We're not interested in carrying 500 supplements.
We're interested in carrying the right ones.
THE FITBODY APPROACH
We've been involved in fitness, training and sports nutrition since long before supplements became an influencer trend.
We've watched ingredients come and go.
We've watched miracle products disappear six months after launch.
And we've watched the fundamentals continue to work.
Train hard.
Eat enough quality protein.
Build most of your diet around real food.
Recover.
Stay consistent.
Then use supplements strategically where they make sense.
That's not nearly as exciting as telling you there's a new capsule that changes everything.
But after decades in this business, it's the approach we trust.
NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
Keep it simple.
The basics
Protein
If you're struggling to consistently meet your protein needs.
Creatine
If strength, resistance training and maintaining lean muscle are priorities.
Omega-3 / Essential Fatty Acids
If your diet doesn't regularly include fatty fish and other good sources.
Vitamins & Minerals
If your diet may leave nutritional gaps.
Then explore more targeted options based on your individual goals.
